Day - 1 : Guwahati to Bomdila
Upon your arrival at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and begin your memorable journey towards the Eastern Himalayas. The drive takes you through the scenic plains of Assam before reaching Bhalukpong, the gateway to Arunachal Pradesh, situated on the banks of the beautiful Kameng River. En route, visit the famous Tipi Orchid Centre, renowned for its impressive collection of exotic orchids and rich floral diversity. As the journey continues, enjoy breathtaking views of the Kameng River, dense forests, and picturesque mountain landscapes. Gradually ascending into the hills, you will reach Bomdila by evening. After check-in, relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this charming Himalayan town. Overnight stay in Bomdila.
Day - 2 : Bomdila to Tawang
After breakfast, embark on one of the most scenic mountain drives in Northeast India as you proceed towards Tawang. The route winds through towering mountain ranges, alpine forests, and high-altitude passes, offering spectacular views throughout the journey. One of the highlights of the day is crossing the majestic Sela Pass at an altitude of approximately 13,700 feet. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks and pristine landscapes, the pass is home to the beautiful Sela Lake, often referred to as Paradise Lake. Continue your journey to the historic Jaswant Garh War Memorial, dedicated to the bravery of Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat during the 1962 Indo-China War. Further ahead, visit the magnificent Nuranang Falls, also known as Jung Falls, where crystal-clear water cascades down amidst stunning mountain scenery. Arrive in Tawang by evening and check in to your hotel. Overnight stay in Tawang.
Day - 3 : Tawang Local Sightseeing
After breakfast, explore the cultural and historical treasures of Tawang. Begin with a visit to the iconic Tawang Monastery, the second-largest monastery in Asia and one of the most important centers of Mahayana Buddhism. Perched on a hilltop, the monastery offers panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and mountains. Continue to the Tawang War Memorial, built in honor of the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Indo-China War. Later, visit the Craft Centre and Emporium, where you can browse traditional Monpa handicrafts and locally made souvenirs. The sightseeing tour also includes Urgelling Monastery, the birthplace of the Sixth Dalai Lama, and the peaceful Khinmey Monastery, known for its spiritual ambiance and scenic setting. Day - 4 : Excursion to Bumla Pass and Madhuri Lake
Today, enjoy an unforgettable excursion to some of the highest and most spectacular destinations in Arunachal Pradesh. Early in the morning, proceed towards Bumla Pass, located at an altitude of approximately 15,200 feet near the Indo-China border. Subject to permit approval and weather conditions, this remarkable destination offers breathtaking Himalayan vistas and a unique border experience. En route, visit the enchanting Madhuri Lake, also known as Sangestar Lake, which gained fame after being featured in a Bollywood movie. Surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery and dotted with partially submerged tree trunks, the lake presents a truly mesmerizing sight. Continue to the serene P.T. Tso Lake, a pristine high-altitude lake known for its crystal-clear waters and peaceful surroundings. Return to Tawang in the evening and relax at your hotel. Overnight stay in Tawang.
Day - 5 : Tawang to Dirang via Sangti Valley
After breakfast, begin your return journey towards Dirang, once again passing through the magnificent Himalayan landscapes of Arunachal Pradesh. Upon reaching Dirang, visit the peaceful Dirang Monastery and explore the local market, where you can experience the traditional lifestyle and culture of the region. Continue to the historic Dirang Dzong, a centuries-old fortified settlement showcasing traditional architecture and local heritage. Later, visit the natural hot water springs before proceeding to the picturesque Sangti Valley. Surrounded by rolling hills, pine forests, and open grasslands, Sangti Valley is renowned for its tranquil beauty and seasonal sightings of the rare Black-necked Crane. After enjoying the serene surroundings, return to Dirang for an overnight stay.
Day - 6 : Dirang to Guwahati via Shergaon
Following breakfast, begin your journey back towards Guwahati via the beautiful village of Shergaon. Nestled amidst dense forests and mountain landscapes, Shergaon is known for its rich Monpa culture, peaceful environment, and breathtaking natural beauty. Take time to explore the scenic Shergaon Valley and admire its picturesque surroundings. Depending on time availability, a visit to Bhairabkunda may also be included. Located near the Assam–Bhutan border, this scenic destination is famous for its river confluence, forested hills, and tranquil atmosphere. Continue your drive through the changing landscapes of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam before arriving in Guwahati by evening. Check in to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day - 7 : Guwahati Local Sightseeing and Departure
After breakfast, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Guwahati, the gateway to Northeast India. Begin with a visit to the revered Kamakhya Temple, one of the most sacred Shakti Peethas in India, situated atop Nilachal Hill. Subject to ferry schedules, visit the famous Umananda Temple located on Peacock Island in the middle of the mighty Brahmaputra River. Depending on available time, you may also visit the Assam State Museum to learn about the rich cultural heritage of Assam. Enjoy scenic viewpoints overlooking the Brahmaputra River and spend some time shopping for local handicrafts, Assamese silk products, and souvenirs in the city markets.
